Job summary

Telford & Wrekin Council is seeking a Compliance Officer for the Night-Time Economy Team. The role focuses on enforcing licensing laws, advising on regulatory matters and supporting enforcement actions across the borough.

Hybrid working is available, with office attendance twice weekly as required by business needs. You will lead inspections, assess applications and contribute to local enforcement initiatives while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections of licensed premises and other licences across the borough.
• Review licensing applications and provide regulatory advice and enforcement support.
• Build relationships with businesses, residents and partner agencies.
• Undertake proactive projects within the night-time economy.
• Identify breaches and determine appropriate enforcement action.
• Accurately record data and complete licensing records.
• Prepare reports, witness statements and prosecution files.
• Represent the Council in court hearings and licence hearings.
