Job summary

Caritas Futures in Colchester is seeking a Night Support Worker to provide overnight support for residents in a specialist accommodation service, addressing homelessness, domestic abuse, and complex needs. The role is full-time, on-site, with a 4pm–9am shift and a 7-day rota.

You will conduct welfare checks, assist with risk assessments and support plans, liaise with healthcare professionals and local authorities, manage referrals and handovers, and promote independence and wellbeing while

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable adults in homelessness, housing, domestic abuse, or related services.
• Strong safeguarding, risk management, and professional boundaries.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and levels of need during a shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight support, welfare checks, and safeguarding interventions.
• Deliver one-to-one support sessions tailored to individual needs.
• Complete and review risk assessments and support plans.
• Assist with PIP applications, benefits, housing matters, and external services.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and safeguarding concerns.
• Liaise with healthcare professionals, local authorities, and partner agencies.
• Manage referrals, appointments, case records, and shift handovers.
• Promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for residents.
