Job summary

Compass Community in Cottingham is seeking a Waking Night Parent and Child Support Worker for a 5-bedroom residential Family Assessment Centre. You will support Parent & Child placements with safeguarding, monitoring, and night-time duties within OFSTED-regulated settings.

The role is 40 hours across 7 days with 10pm–8am shifts; flexibility for cover is required. Excellent safeguarding standards are essential to support families and staff.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience of working in a Children’s Residential, Early Years or Children’s Social Care setting.
• Good knowledge and experience of safeguarding and working with complex families.
• Ability to communicate effectively in complex or challenging situations with families.

Responsibilities

• Provide waking night support to Parent & Child placements in a residential setting.
• Monitor safety of families and CCTV during the night.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team and be flexible for shift coverage.
