Job summary

Caritas Futures in Colchester is seeking a dedicated Night Support Worker to join a specialist supported accommodation service. You will provide overnight welfare checks, safeguarding and tailored one-to-one support to residents facing homelessness and related needs.

The role runs 4pm to 9am on a 7-day rota, is on-site, and offers ongoing contract opportunities with a supportive team and access to training and development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable adults in homelessness, housing or related services.
• Strong safeguarding, risk management and professional boundaries.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and respond to emergencies.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight support, welfare checks, and safeguarding intervention where required.
• Deliver one-to-one support sessions tailored to individual needs.
• Complete and review risk assessments and support plans.
• Assist with PIP applications, benefits, housing matters, and accessing external services.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and safeguarding concerns appropriately.
• Liaise with healthcare professionals, local authorities, and partner agencies.
• Manage referrals, appointments, case records, and shift handovers.
• Promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for residents.

Caritas Futures is recruiting for a Night Support Worker to join a specialist supported accommodation service in Colchester, supporting individuals affected by homelessness, domestic abuse, modern slavery, human trafficking, housing-related issues, and other complex needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with experience in housing, homelessness, domestic abuse, hostels, supported living, mental health, substance misuse, or other vulnerable services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overnight support, welfare checks, and safeguarding intervention where required


• Deliver one-to-one support sessions tailored to individual needs
