Job summary

Harley House Supported Living is seeking a Female Support Worker to provide person-centred care in a 24/7 supported living setting. The role focuses on promoting independence, dignity and choice while assisting with daily living activities, personal care and community access.

You will work a 8pm-8am night shift on a full-time permanent basis, with overtime opportunities and potential to earn up to £34,000 per year. Comprehensive training, PBS and safeguarding knowledge are emphasised.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Support Worker or Care Assistant.
• Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
• Understanding of safeguarding and mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (washing, bathing, toileting).
• Support with daily living tasks (cooking, cleaning, shopping).
• Administer or assist with medications as required.
• Promote independent living and life skills development.
• Support access to community activities, appointments and social inclusion.
• Follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
• Record and report incidents and progress notes.
• Work as part of a team and attend handovers/meetings.

Female Support Worker

Location: Clacton-On-Sea

£14.00 per hour | Up to £34,000 per year + Overtime

Full-time / Permanent / Night shift: 8pm-8am

About The Role

We are recruiting Female Support Workers / Female Care Assistants (which is a genuine occupational requirement due to the needs of the person we support) to provide high-quality, person-centred care to individuals in a supported living environment. This role involves hands-on support, promoting independence, dignity, and choice while supporting people with daily living activities, personal care, and community access.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (washing, bathing, toileting)
• Support with daily living tasks (cooking, cleaning, shopping)
• Assist with medication administration
• Promote independent living and life skills development
• Support access to community activities, appointments, and social inclusion
• Follow care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures
• Record and report incidents, behaviours, and progress notes
• Work as part of a team, attending handovers and meetings

Skills & Experience

• Support Worker / Care Assistant experience
• Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
• Understanding of safeguarding, mental health, autism, learning disabilities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, compassionate, and proactive
• Flexible to work day shifts, night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays
• Must maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times
