Job summary

City of Edinburgh Council is seeking Social Care Worker (Nights) to provide compassionate support to adults in Edinburgh’s care homes.

You will work nights, help with personal care, meals and medication, and contribute to maintaining independence and dignity. A minimum SVQ2 in Health and Social Care is required, with opportunities to progress to SVQ3 as you develop. PVG scheme checks are required before starting; training and benefits include generous holiday entitlement and a pension.

Qualifications

• Minimum SVQ2 Qualification in Health and Social Care.
• Willingness to work nights and varied shifts.
• PVG scheme check prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care such as bathing, dressing, meals and medication.
• Support independence and dignity for residents.
• Follow care plans and report changes to supervisors.
