Job summary

Smiths News is seeking an Operations Team Leader for our UK warehouse network. This full-time night-shift role (42 hours/week) leads a dedicated team to run safe, efficient operations and drive performance across distribution centres.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and hands-on involvement in training, attendance, and process improvement. Two vacancies available with different rest days.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced environments, ideally 24/7 logistics or similar.
• Ability to manage large teams and liaise with all levels of management.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with colleagues and supervisors.
• Proven ability to plan and execute warehouse operations and handle issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a dedicated warehouse team to ensure smooth, safe operations.
• Lead and motivate the team, conduct training and monitor attendance and performance.
• Communicate efficiently between team members and managers to keep priorities aligned.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and drive productivity and safety improvements.
• Directly impact efficiency and target achievement through hands-on leadership.
