Job summary

CVS Vets in Manchester is hiring a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Unit A1, Priestley Road, Wardley Business Park. This permanent, part-time role offers 21 hours per week on a 4-on 4-off pattern, with a night shift from 23:00 to 06:30.

You will support RVNs and Vets, assist with animal restraint, care for patients, and contribute to a friendly, pet-first practice. Benefits include pay at national minimum wage, five weeks' leave pro rata, staff discounts, and wellbeing

Qualifications

• Customer service and public interaction experience.
• Ability to handle emotional situations with kindness and professionalism.
• Strong communication skills with genuine empathy.
• Experience in animal welfare, preferably from a veterinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nurses with patient care.
• Assist Vets and Nurses with animal restraint.
• Walk, feed, and clean patients.
• Prepare emergency and operating facilities.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance.
• Run internal lab samples.
• Answer emergency calls.
• Support the reception team with appointments and payments.
