Job summary

CVS Group plc is seeking a Night Veterinary Patient Care Assistant at Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists in Alton, Hampshire. The role supports RVNs and Vets with patient care on a 20:00–08:30 shift, arranged on a 4-on/4-off 8-week rotation, averaging 42 hours per week.

Permanent position; both full-time and part-time applications considered. Responsibilities include nursing care, assisting clinicians, patient handling, emergency prep, and lab sample handling, with a strong emphasis on animal

Qualifications

• An excellent communicator with strong empathy.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Experience in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, medicating and handling and a high level of understanding of welfare needs.
• Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing situations.
• A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills.
• Experience in looking after animals in a veterinary environment would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Nursing care to patients.
• Assisting Clinicians and Nurses in restraining animals for treatment.
• Cleaning, walking, and feeding of patients.
• Preparation of emergencies.
• General cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Running internal lab samples.
• Answering emergency calls.
