Job summary

GXO Dartford is seeking a Transport Clerk for the night shift to support Sainsbury’s, coordinating schedules and handling customer queries. The role is full-time and permanent, operating 18:00 to 06:00 on a 4-on/4-off rota, ensuring accurate admin and timely deliveries.

You will work with drivers and depot teams to monitor performance, resolve issues, and maintain records, while using Microsoft Office and transport systems to report on KPIs and improvements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in transport/warehouse administration or customer service environments would be advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with drivers, customers, and colleagues.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and remain calm under pressure.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and transport/logistics systems to manage data and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily delivery schedules and communicate updates with drivers, depot teams and customers.
• Provide excellent customer service by handling delivery queries, resolving issues, and supporting a positive customer journey.
• Monitor transport and delivery performance, including on-time deliveries, failed drops and KPI reporting.
• Investigate delivery issues, identify process improvements, and support corrective actions to reduce service failures.
• Maintain accurate administrative records, compliance documentation, report, and transport-related system updates.
