Job summary

Sandstone Care Group's Birkdale Tower Care Home in Southport is seeking a Senior Care Practitioner Nights to provide compassionate, high-quality care during night shifts. Join a warm, person-centred team in a beautifully restored landmark home.

You will lead night staff, supervise care delivery, monitor wellbeing, and maintain accurate records, while supporting residents with personal care and comfort through the night.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or leadership experience in a residential or nursing home.
• Warm, professional approach with a positive attitude.
• Level 3 Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
• Confidence using care systems and maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to remain calm and lead effectively under pressure.
• Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends on a rota.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care, hygiene and comfort during the night.
• Provide emotional reassurance and companionship as needed.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes or concerns.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure handovers are clear and thorough.
• Lead and support night staff, including supervision and guidance.
• Assist with staff appraisals, training and liaising with healthcare professionals.
• Ensure the home remains calm, safe and well-managed overnight.
