Job summary

Salutem Care and Education is seeking a Night Nurse to join our 24-hour care team. The role covers 12.5 hour night shifts across three days in a residential setting, delivering high quality nursing and general care.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team to promote independence, wellbeing and dignity, while adhering to NMC codes and safeguarding requirements. Flexibility for weekends and sleep-ins is essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse qualification with active NMC registration.
• Knowledge of the NMC Code and legislation relating to disability, mental health, or physical health needs.
• Experience supporting vulnerable adults in residential, day service, youth work, or similar environments.
• Strong communication and relationship building skills.
• Ability to reflect on practice and work effectively within a team.
• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.
• A full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Working collaboratively across teams to support Salutem’s strategic goals.
• Delivering outstanding customer service and adhering to quality frameworks.
• Following all organisational policies and procedures.
• Maintaining professional development aligned with NMC standards.
• Ensuring safe handling, administration, and storage of medications.
• Providing evidence based clinical care, including procedures such as catheterisation, PEG/tracheostomy management, and NG tube care.
• Upholding safeguarding responsibilities for children and adults.
• Maintaining accurate clinical and organisational records in line with NMC and data protection regulations.
• Supporting the Service Manager with supervision, mentoring, and development of support staff.
• Promoting safe environments through health & safety, infection control, and risk management.
• Building effective relationships with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Delivering person-centred care planning, health promotion, and effective transition management.
• Participating in clinical supervision, audits, training, and continuous service improvement.
• Supporting recruitment, induction, and staff meetings.
