Job summary

Castle Employment Agency Ltd is recruiting an experienced Shift Manager to lead a busy night operation in Wetherby. You will own the night shift, manage up to 6 Line Leaders and 25 Operatives, and ensure production plans are delivered safely and on time.

The role requires strong leadership, food manufacturing experience, and track record in lean continuous improvement, HACCP and safety standards. Salary £50,000-£65,000 DOE, permanent contract, 6pm-6am.

Qualifications

• Experience leading shifts in manufacturing environments.
• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Experience with root cause analysis and hazard analysis.
• Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Safety training such as IOSH would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the night shift operation.
• Lead, develop and manage Line Leaders and Operatives.
• Deliver production plans and address issues affecting performance.
• Maintain food safety, quality, GMP and health & safety standards.
• Manage labour availability and resource allocation.
• Monitor operational and production KPIs.
• Identify training needs and develop team capability.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement across processes, equipment and working practices.
