Job summary

Mativ is seeking a Multi-Skilled Night Shift Engineer for our site in Ashton. The role supports rubber processing lines and related equipment, applying electrical and mechanical expertise to improve reliability and uptime across a mix of old and new machinery.

The position operates a three-week rotating shift pattern with 12-hour blocks, and involves proactive maintenance, fault finding, and project support while ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in electrical/mechanical maintenance.
• Experience in production/factory environment.
• PLC fault diagnosis and basic programming (Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Omron).
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and ISO standards.
• Ability to read diagrams and convey technical information.
• Methodical, organized and flexible team player.
• SAP PM experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance and improvement of production equipment.
• Develop and execute preventative maintenance tasks.
• Diagnose electrical/mechanical faults and drive repairs to minimise downtime.
• Support the introduction of new equipment and ways of working.
• Ensure compliance with H&S and environmental regulations and zero accidents target.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and hygiene.
• Deliver planned projects to specification and service requirements.
• Carry out fault finding and system improvements during operation.
• Understand and meet ongoing business requirements and collaborate with team.
