Job summary

Mativ is seeking a Multi-Skilled Night Shift Engineer for its site in Ashton. You will support production lines, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults, and drive improvements to machine reliability and uptime on a 3-week rotate pattern.

The role requires an approved apprenticeship and experience in a factory environment, with strong H&S knowledge and the ability to work under pressure. Competitive benefits and career development offered.

Qualifications

• Approved and formal apprenticeship served in relevant skill area and practical experience within industry.
• Experience of working in a production/factory environment.
• Sound knowledge of Health & Safety including ISO 9001 & 14001.
• Awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
• Ability to read technical diagrams and report technical information.
• Work methodically and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance and improvement of production equipment and machinery.
• Develop and complete preventative maintenance tasks.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and repair to minimise downtime.
• Support introduction of new equipment and ways of working.
• Ensure compliance with H&S and environmental regulations and zero accidents target.
• Model best practice and health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Deliver planned projects to specification and service requirements.
• Identify additional works through the PPM programme.
• Diagnose, fault-find, improve and commission systems; monitor performance.
• Develop effective working relationships to meet business needs.
