Job summary

The Pool Lounge — Bola 8, Elephant & Castle, London, seeks a Shift Manager for Friday and Saturday nights. You’ll lead bar, floor, VIP and pool lounge operations, call the shots on busy shifts, and ensure an exceptional guest experience. Immediate start and competitive pay based on experience.

You’ll oversee opening/closing procedures, manage security in collaboration with the SIA, and coach the team to maximise revenue while maintaining top standards of service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience running a shift in a bar, club or late-night venue.
• Commercial mindset with ability to upsell and drive revenue.
• Confidence managing door security and working with SIA teams.
• Strong cash handling and stock management skills.
• Natural leader who brings out the best in a team, even at full capacity.
• Passion for guest experience and leaving guests buzzing.
• Calm, decisive, solutions-focused under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Own opening and closing procedures, and run bar, floor, VIP and pool lounge operations to a high standard.
• Manage door security alongside our SIA team to keep everyone safe.
• Handle guest issues calmly and quickly — protect the vibe.
• Build rotas, allocate duties, and maximise team performance on busy nights.
• Spot upselling moments and coach the team to do the same.
• Keep cash-ups accurate, stock in check, and shift reports on point.
• Stay on top of licensing, Challenge 25, and Working Time Regulations.
