Job summary

Accord Healthcare is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer for the Night Shift in Barnstaple. You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance across the packing line, focusing on reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.

The role requires experience in regulated environments, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work nights. A comprehensive benefits package is provided, including bonus and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar engineering maintenance role, ideally in a highly regulated ‘clean room’ environment.
• A natural problem-solver with a disciplined, adaptable approach.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills in English.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Good numeracy skills with IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and databases.
• Engineering apprenticeship or ONC qualification in a relevant discipline.
• COMPEX certification and ATEX experience are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide multi-skilled maintenance support to the Packing department.
• Install, commission, maintain and modify electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.
• Adhere to GMP, PUWER, LTV, and other regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality and external contractors.
• Mentor colleagues and ensure effective shift handovers.
