Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Night Shift Technician to join a modern workshop in Martlesham. You will service, maintain, diagnose and repair a range of commercial vehicles to high standards, with a night shift pattern Tue-Fri 7:30pm–7:00am and 44 hours per week.

The role requires a confident technician who can work independently, diagnose faults accurately and complete repairs safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Experience as HGV Technician or similar role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Experience using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Experience with commercial vehicles and heavy trucks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults on commercial vehicles.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Use modern diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify vehicle faults.
• Complete scheduled safety inspections and identify additional repairs.
• Repair and replace faulty components and vehicle parts.
• Work on mechanical, electrical and vehicle subsystem faults.
• Follow the repair process from diagnosis to completion.
• Maintain accurate job cards and workshop documentation.
• Ensure work is carried out safely and within timescales.
• Support other Technicians within the workshop.
