Job summary

The Best Connection recruits experienced HGV Class 1 (CE) drivers on behalf of Howdens Joinery for night-shift trunking work in Howden, East Yorkshire. Start times typically between 15:00 and 21:00, with ongoing opportunities following assessment.

Roles involve curtain-side trucks, RDC deliveries, and regular return loads; full-time shifts include paid breaks and a minimum of eight hours per shift. Successful candidates can expect continued work after induction.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (CE) licence and up-to-date entitlement.
• Minimum 12 months' Class 1 driving experience.
• Recent and active Class 1 driving history.
• No DR, DG or DD endorsements; max 6 penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Curtain-side trailer trunking work delivering to regional RDCs.
• Regular return loads of raw materials and backloads on route.
• Ensure safe loading, securing and weight distribution.
• Operate in KPI-driven environment with Microlise monitoring.
