Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is looking for a Fabric Engineer who will deliver high quality planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across building fabric, focusing on roofing systems, gutters, and downpipes. This role operates a night shift, 10pm–6am, Sunday to Thursday, across multiple sites to ensure asset integrity and safe, compliant upkeep.

Qualifications

Strong experience in roofing maintenance (flat and/or pitched).
Proven background in building fabric maintenance within commercial or industrial environments.
Ability to diagnose and resolve fabric-related reactive faults.
Competence in gutter, downpipe, and roof drainage PPM and repairs.
Good understanding of building structures and drainage systems.
Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Carry out scheduled PPM tasks on roofing, gutters, downpipes, drainage channels, and building fabric elements.
Inspect roof coverings for defects such as blistering, membrane failure, cracked tiles, and blocked gutters.
Complete PPM reports with photos, descriptions, and recommended follow up works.
Attend urgent call outs for roof leaks, blocked gutters, damaged cladding, or weather-related damage.
Diagnose faults accurately and implement temporary or permanent repairs.
Carry out minor roofing repairs such as replacing tiles, patching membranes, clearing gutters.
Identify when specialist contractors are required for escalated works.
Work with health and safety regulations and keep work areas safe and clean.
