Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Night Shift Engineer for a site in Ely, Cambridgeshire. You will provide electrical and mechanical support to production equipment, troubleshoot PLCs, and maintain plant services during night shifts.

The role requires an electrically biased engineer with FMCG or packaging experience, 17th/18th Edition, and the ability to work solo on night shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be an electrically biased engineer.
• Apprenticeship or time-served with electrical & mechanical qualifications.
• Experience in FMCG or packaging manufacturing.
• 17th/18th Edition Electrical.
• Electrical testing & inspection experience.
• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working as sole engineer on nights.
• Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding & problem solving skills.
• PLC - electrical fault finding.
• Experience of carrying out CI projects, new machine installations.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical & mechanical support & repairs for all production equipment & site services.
• Fix production machinery, conveyors, packaging machinery, automation & controls, PLCs, site services & facilities.
• Support with project work - new machine & production line installs.
• PPMs, electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving, machine upgrades.

Do you want to work for a leading manufacturer that has been established the local area for a number of years. Due to site investment and development, they are looking for an experienced night shift engineer to join their close knit team.

Role & responsibilities of a maintenance engineer

• Provide electrical & mechanical support & repairs for all production equipment & site services
• Fixing production machinery, industrial processing equipment, conveyors, packaging machinery, automation & controls, PLC's, site services & facilities
• Supporting with project work - new machine & production line installs
• PPM's, electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving, machine upgrades

Knowledge, skills & experience need to be a maintenance engineer

• Must be an electrically biased engineer
• Apprenticeship trained or a time-served engineering with electrical & mechanical qualifications
• Previously worked in FMCG or packaging manufacturing
• 17th / 18th Edition Electrical
• Electrical testing & inspection experience
• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working as sole engineer on nights
• Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding & problem solving skills
• PLC - electrical fault finding
