Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Albany, NY. The role focuses on assessment, coordination, and management of patient care throughout the episode of care with emphasis on discharge planning and transitions.

Essential duties include implementing orders, administering medications, starting IVs, and coordinating diagnostic tests. Requires NYS RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC, and 1–3 years in ED, preferably in a Level I trauma

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma/Associate/Bachelor).
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC certification.
• 1–3 years of ED nursing experience, preferably at a large academic/Level 1 center.
• Commitment to continuing education and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Implements orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments and tests, and documents as required by policy and regulations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
• Assesses and evaluates patient needs and responses to care.
• Applies nursing judgment in patient care management decisions and plan of care.
• Directs and coordinates care with the nursing team and ancillary staff to maintain standards.
