Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is seeking an Electrical Engineer for permanent night shifts on a critical site in West London. The role involves carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance and providing support for motors, pumps, AHUs, LV switchgear, PLCs and SCADA systems.

The ideal candidate has NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, 18th Edition, and City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395, with HV awareness desirable and a solid safety mindset. Nights only, 4 on/4 off rotation.

Qualifications

• Solid electrical maintenance experience in a critical/technical environment.
• Experience with M&E plant such as motors, pumps, AHUs, LV switchgear, PLCs and SCADA.
• Experience on night shift and on 4-on/4-off pattern.
• Knowledge of UK electrical regulations and safety procedures.
• HV experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance, ensuring compliance with regulations and safe systems of work.
• Provide support for M&E plant such as motors, pumps, AHUs, LV switchgear, PLCs and SCADA systems.
• Monitor building services during the night, taking proactive steps to improve efficiency and performance.
• Manage work orders and helpdesk requests, keeping all documentation accurate and up to date.
• Follow health and safety procedures rigorously, raising any concerns or risks promptly.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers on shift to maintain smooth site operations overnight.

Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Night Shifts (4 on, 4 off)
Location: Chiswick, London
Salary: £61,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift Pattern: Nights Only – 4 on / 4 off

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a critical site in Chiswick, working a permanent night shift rota. This role is well-suited to an engineer with solid electrical maintenance expertise who enjoys working in a high-performing, fast-paced technical environment.

Key Duties

• Carry out both planned and reactive electrical maintenance, ensuring compliance with regulations and safe systems of work

• Experience working with high voltage systems (HV authorised or awareness desirable)
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance and maintenance industry standards
• Previous experience working within a critical/technical environment on shifts
• IOSH Working Safely (or equivalent) preferred
