Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our nighttime maintenance team in West London, on a fixed Sunday-to-Thursday night shift. The role centres on electrical maintenance, system updates, and urgent repairs to keep critical airport infrastructure running safely.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, document work using a CMMS, and follow RAMS and airside safety procedures while coordinating with night-shift managers and contractors.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • BS 7671 18th Edition qualification.
  • Demonstrated electrical maintenance experience in commercial, industrial, or critical infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

  • Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and remedial work on power systems, lighting networks, distribution units, control panels, and backup systems during night hours.
  • Conduct rapid fault-finding and emergency repairs to clear critical system defects before morning operations.
  • Complete detailed logs, work orders, and safety documentation via CMMS/handheld device.
  • Ensure safe isolation procedures, issue Permits to Work and RAMS under airside safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with night duty shift managers and external contractors to complete complex tasks on schedule.

Electrical Engineer (Night Shift)

Location: West London

Salary: £44,000 per annum + Overtime & Benefits

Shift Pattern: Fixed Night Shift - Sunday to Thursday (21:00 to 05:00)

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join our nighttime maintenance team. Operating on a fixed Sunday-to-Thursday night schedule, you will carry out essential electrical maintenance, system updates, and urgent repairs during non-peak operational hours to keep the airport's critical infrastructure running smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and remedial work on power systems, lighting networks, distribution units, control panels, and backup systems during low-traffic night windows.
  • Conduct rapid fault-finding and emergency repairs to clear critical system defects before morning airport operations commence.
  • Complete detailed logs, work orders, and safety documentation via a digital maintenance management tool (CMMS / handheld device).
  • Ensure strict adherence to safe isolation procedures, issuing Permits to Work and executing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) under airside safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with night duty shift managers and external contractors to ensure complex electrical tasks are completed on schedule.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or C&G equivalent).
  • BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Demonstrated electrical maintenance experience in commercial, industrial, or critical infrastructure environments.
