Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd are recruiting a CNC Turner for their Ilminster site, on a permanent night shift. You will set and operate SPDT turning machinery and interpret drawings to achieve sub-micron tolerances.

You'll join a precision engineering environment with strong metrology and quality control, and training is available for SPDT background. Nights with a 20% shift premium, benefits and pension offered.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC turning machinery.
• SPDT experience is advantageous but not required.
• CNC programming using G-code or related controls is desirable.
• Strong understanding of engineering tolerances and surface finishes.
• Experience with precision materials (aluminium, copper, nickel-based) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC Single Point Diamond Turning machinery.
• Manufacturing ultra-precision components to extremely tight tolerances.
• Interpreting engineering drawings, CAD data and surface finish specifications.
• Selecting and handling specialist diamond tooling.
• Achieving sub-micron tolerances and high-quality surface finishes.
• Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections.
• Using precision metrology equipment to verify component quality.
• Adjusting machine parameters to optimise quality, accuracy and cycle times.
• Carrying out routine machine maintenance and fault diagnosis.
