Job summary
Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join a leading engineering and optics manufacturer in Ilminster on a permanent night shift.
Role involves setting and operating SPDT Diamond Turning machinery, interpreting drawings, and achieving sub-micron tolerances with high-quality finishes. Training is available for strong CNC turning candidates with limited SPDT experience.
Qualifications
- Experience operating CNC turning machinery.
- SPDT experience is advantageous but not essential.
- G-code controls experience is desirable.
- Strong understanding of tolerances and surface finishes.
- Ability to work independently in a clean, controlled manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Setting and operating CNC Single Point Diamond Turning machinery.
- Manufacturing ultra-precision components to tight tolerances.
- Interpreting engineering drawings, CAD data and surface finish specifications.
- Selecting and handling specialist diamond tooling.
- Achieving sub-micron tolerances and high-quality surface finishes.
- Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections.
- Using precision metrology equipment to verify component quality.
- Adjusting machine parameters to optimise quality, accuracy and cycle times.
- Carrying out routine machine maintenance and fault diagnosis.
- Maintaining accurate production and inspection records.
- Working closely with Engineering, Metrology and Quality teams.
