Job summary

Robert Dyas is seeking a skilled Class 1 HGV Driver to join our Hemel Hempstead Distribution Centre during night shifts. You will safely operate a Class 1 vehicle, perform pre- and post-trip checks, and ensure timely deliveries and pickups across multiple drops.

The role requires a valid Class 1 (C+E) licence with at least 2 years of experience, a clean driving record, and strong communication. We offer a competitive salary and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Minimum 2 years' experience driving Class 1 HGVs.
• Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents.
• Ability to read and follow GPS/nav systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Physically fit for handling heavy loads.
• Experience with multi-drop deliveries, including kerbside with tail lift.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 1 HGV vehicle.
• Deliver and collect goods, including using a tail lift for kerbside deliveries.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and post-trip vehicle checks.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups.
• Communicate effectively with the team and report issues promptly.
• Handle goods with care and secure them using best practice procedures.
