Job summary

Robert Dyas is seeking a Class 1 HGV Driver (Nights) for our Hemel Hempstead Distribution Centre. You will safely operate a Class 1 vehicle and manage night-time deliveries and collections to support store and depot operations.

The role requires moving goods using tail lifts, completing pre- and post-trip checks, and keeping accurate delivery records while adhering to safety procedures. A valid Class 1 licence and several years of experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Minimum 2 years' experience driving Class 1 HGVs.
• Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents.
• Ability to read and follow GPS and navigation systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Physically fit for handling heavy loads.
• Experience with multi-drop deliveries, including kerbside with a tail lift.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 1 HGV vehicle.
• Deliver and collect goods, including using a tail lift for kerbside deliveries.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and post-trip vehicle checks.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups.
• Communicate effectively with the team and report any issues promptly.
• Handle goods with care and secure them properly using best practice procedures.
