Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Care Assistant - Nights at Poets Mews Care Home in Somerset. You will deliver high standards of personal care and work with the care team to ensure continuity of services for residents.

Experience is not required as a thorough induction and training programme is provided, and a DBS check is required. The role is based on night shifts at a busy care home, with opportunities to grow within the organisation.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards residents and other people in the home.
• Be an efficient worker who can carry reasonable instructions from other team members.
• Be adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.
• Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, sign of infections and elevate any identified risks in a timely manner.
• Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
• Practising safe systems of work across the range of task.
