Job summary

Morgan Hunt is seeking an experienced Night Team Manager to lead a Severe Weather Emergency Provision (SWEP) service in Camden, supporting rough sleepers during cold weather. The role is a temporary cover until 31 March 2027, with a 37.5 hour week and a rotating shift pattern of three waking nights plus a day shift.

You will mobilise and run the shelter daily, supervise staff, coordinate rotas, oversee safeguarding and risk management, and ensure high-quality trauma-informed support while

Qualifications

• Significant management experience within homelessness or related services.
• Proven experience leading and developing staff teams.
• Strong knowledge of adult safeguarding, risk management and incident response.
• Experience implementing trauma-informed approaches and overseeing case management.
• Understanding of service performance, quality assurance and contractual requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in a demanding, fast-paced service environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mobilisation and day-to-day operation of the cold weather shelter.
• Manage, supervise and develop staff, including Shift Leads and Night Support Workers.
• Coordinate staff recruitment, induction, rotas and deployment.
• Oversee safeguarding, risk assessments, incident management and quality of support.
• Embed trauma-informed and psychologically informed approaches.
• Monitor client wellbeing, accommodation and support plans, ensuring links with housing, outreach and health services.
• Maintain accurate records, monitor performance and support service improvements.
• Manage budgets and work collaboratively with statutory services and voluntary sector partners.
