Job summary

Victory Care Home in Chatham is seeking a Night Senior Care Assistant to join Agincare Weymouth. You will work nights (8pm–8am) with alternate weekends, delivering person-centred care and dementia support while providing night-time leadership for the home.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months right to work in the UK.
• NVQ Level 2, and working towards NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
• At least two years’ experience working in a social care environment – preferably with vulnerable people aged over 65.
• Good demonstrable knowledge and experience of dementia.
• Excellent communication skills and a real ability to show empathy to people under your care.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care – bathing, dressing, oral care within residents' preferences and promote choice and independence.
• Care reviews – contribute to and carry out care reviews with residents to reflect their needs.
• Medication – administer residents' medication safely, supportively and compliantly.
• Social activity – lead or participate in trips out, social engagements and activities within the home.
• Leadership – support new starters or existing staff with shadowing and development, and may lead the home when the senior manager is absent.

What is required from you?

A day in the life of a Senior Care Assistant

• Care reviews – contribute to and carry out care reviews with residents to ensure their plans reflect their needs.

• Leadership – support new starters or existing staff with shadowing and development, and may be called upon to lead the home where the senior manager is absent.
