Job summary

Agincare Homes Holdings is hiring a Night Senior Care Assistant at Victory care home in Chatham. Join our welcoming team and work 8pm to 8am, with alternative weekends included. You will provide person-centred care, support residents with bathing, dressing and oral care, and help manage dementia needs.

Qualifications

• Must have right to work in the UK for at least 12 months.
• NVQ Level 2 or above; working towards/achieved NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
• At least two years' experience in a social care environment, preferably with residents over 65.
• Good knowledge and experience of dementia.
• Excellent communication skills and empathy for residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care including bathing, dressing and oral care per residents' preferences.
• Contribute to and carry out care reviews to reflect residents' needs.
• Administer residents' medication safely and in a compliant manner.
• Lead and participate in social activities and outings within the home.
• Support new starters or existing staff with shadowing and development; may lead the home when needed.

What is required from you?

• A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK
• Qualified to at least NVQ Level 2, and achieved or working towards NVQ level 3 (or equivalent)
• At least two years' experience working in a social care environment - preferably with vulnerable people over 65
• Good demonstrable knowledge and experience of dementia
• Excellent communication skills and a real ability to show empathy to people under your care
• Night Senior Care Assistant to work from 8pm to 8am to include alternative weekends

A day in the life of a Senior Care Assistant

• Person-centred care - You will ensure that residents receive personal care from you and your team including bathing, dressing and oral care within their preferences, and actively promote right to choice and independence
• Review - You will contribute to and carry out care reviews with your residents to ensure their plans reflect their needs.
• Medication - You will administer residents' medication in a safe and supportive and compliant way
• Social Activity - You will lead in and participate in trips out, social engagements and activities within the home.
• Leadership - you may support new starters or existing staff with shadowing and development, and may be called up on to lead the home where more senior managers are not available.
