Job summary

Sea Containers London on the South Bank is seeking a Night Security Officer. You will maintain a safe environment for guests, colleagues and property during the night, monitor the hotel, respond to incidents and carry out regular security checks to ensure overnight operations run smoothly.

The role requires a calm, professional approach, strong communication, and the ability to work nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel, hospitality, security or similar environment is desirable.
• A valid SIA licence is essential.
• A calm, professional and confident approach when dealing with incidents or challenging situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good written skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential security issues.
• The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the wider hotel team.
• A strong commitment to guest service, confidentiality, health and safety.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and bank holidays as required

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence throughout the hotel during night-time operations.
• Conduct regular patrols of guest areas, public spaces, back-of-house areas, entrances, exits and external areas.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, access control systems and other security equipment.
• Respond to security incidents, emergencies and guest or colleague concerns.
• Manage access to the hotel and challenge unauthorised persons where appropriate.
• Record and report all incidents, accidents, suspicious activity and security concerns accurately.
• Support the Night Manager and wider hotel team with emergency situations and operational requirements.
• Carry out regular checks of fire exits, emergency equipment, plant rooms and other key areas.
• Assist with fire alarm activations, evacuations and other emergency procedures in accordance with hotel policies.
• Liaise with emergency services, contractors and other external parties when required.
• Support the protection of hotel guests, colleagues, assets and property.
• Ensure all security equipment and systems are functioning correctly and reporting any faults promptly.
• Maintain accurate security logs, handover information and relevant compliance documentation.
• Provide clear and detailed handovers to the incoming team, highlighting incidents, outstanding issues and areas requiring attention.
• Maintain a professional appearance and representing Sea Containers London positively at all times.
• Work closely with the overnight hotel team to ensure a safe, welcoming and seamless guest experience.

£36,305 p/a + service charge + benefits
