Job summary

Roadside Technician Nights (field based) with a national breakdown company is seeking a hands-on professional to service the Oxford/Reading area. Excellent pay, overtime and a bonus scheme are offered, plus pension and life insurance benefits.

The role requires a Level 2 (ideally Level 3) in light vehicle maintenance, at least 2 years post-qualification experience, and a full UK-driving licence (max 6 points).

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair (or ideally Level 3).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience.
• Customer-focused approach required.
• Full UK driving licence with max 6 points (no bans).

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs (battery, wheel changes, minor engine fixes).
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible to keep members mobile.
• Advise members on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments.
