We’re looking for a friendly, reliable and professional Night Receptionist to join the team at Eastwood Hall, part of The Venues Collection. In this full-time, 40-hour-per-week role, you’ll deliver exceptional guest service throughout the night, ensuring a warm welcome, smooth check-ins and check-outs, and a safe, welcoming environment for all guests. If you’re passionate about hospitality, thrive working independently and enjoy creating memorable guest experiences, we’d love to hear from you.

Night Receptionist – The Role

As Night Receptionist, you’ll play an important role in ensuring guests enjoy a seamless and welcoming experience while maintaining the smooth and secure operation of the hotel overnight.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
  • Create a warm, welcoming and professional first impression for all guests, visitors and colleagues.
  • Deliver excellent customer service throughout the guest journey, including check-ins, check-outs, room allocations, room changes and late check-out requests.
  • Operate the hotel’s reservation and reception systems, including Opera Cloud, PDQ machines and the telephone switchboard, with full training provided.
  • Manage guest accounts, verify billing, process payments and follow the correct banking and charging procedures.
  • Complete nightly audits, balance the daily shift and carry out all end-of-day procedures accurately.
  • Conduct regular security and safety checks to help maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and colleagues.
  • Answer incoming calls and guest enquiries professionally, providing accurate information about hotel facilities, services and events.
  • Maintain the reception area to a clean, tidy and professional standard, ensuring all equipment is used and stored correctly.
  • Complete night-shift checklists and ensure all relevant tasks are accurately recorded and signed off.
  • Follow company policies, standard operating procedures, confidentiality requirements and guest data protection standards.
  • Report accidents, maintenance issues and potential hazards promptly to the Duty Manager.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments, providing clear handovers and supporting the wider hotel team.
  • Promote hotel services and facilities, recognising opportunities to enhance the guest experience and maximise revenue.
  • Attend all required training and undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the management team.

This role operates on a full-time, 40-hour-per-week shift pattern, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and handle guest enquiries and requests professionally.
  • A reliable, responsible approach and the confidence to work independently during night shifts.
  • Excellent timekeeping and flexibility to work nights, weekends and public holidays.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships and contribute to a supportive team environment.
  • A professional attitude, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation, safety and confidentiality.

Previous hotel reception or hospitality experience would be an advantage, but it’s not essential. Full training will be provided for the right candidate, including training on Opera Cloud.
