Job summary

Bedruthan Hotel & Spa in Newquay, England, is seeking a Night Reception Host to join our Front of House team. You’ll manage late check-ins, guest requests, and ensure a safe, welcoming overnight operation across Bedruthan and Scarlet Hotels.

You’ll work independently, stay calm under pressure, and maintain accurate billing, while providing consistent hospitality with a friendly, professional approach. A full time contract with benefits awaits the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Basic computer literacy is essential.
• Good numeracy and accuracy with cash handling/transactions is essential.
• Previous hospitality or hotel experience is desirable.
• A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
• Security awareness or similar training is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver smooth late check-ins and early check-outs following hotel procedures.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and professionally.
• Support room service deliveries with Food & Beverage team.
• Accurately manage guest billing, payments and reception floats.
• Maintain clean, welcoming reception and public areas.
• Carry out overnight security checks across hotel buildings and grounds.
• Handle guest requests and record feedback clearly.
• Ensure effective shift handovers with day teams.
• Report maintenance issues and follow up as required.
• Support light cleaning and housekeeping tasks when needed.
• Maintain a friendly, professional and solution-focused approach throughout the night.
