Job summary

The Worcester Whitehouse Hotel is looking for a proactive part-time Night Porter working 15 hours per week. This role supports the hotel’s night operations, ensuring guest safety and a clean, welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities include patrolling the premises, responding to guest requests, assisting with check-ins, performing cleaning duties, and monitoring security systems. This position requires working hours from 11:00pm to 7:00am.

Responsibilities

• Patrol public areas and hotel premises to maintain security.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and emergencies.
• Assist with late check-ins and early check-outs.
• Perform cleaning duties in public areas.
• Monitor and operate security systems and alarms.
• Handle luggage storage and transportation for guests.
• Maintain clear logs of night activities and incidents.
• Support emergency procedures and fire safety protocols.
• Coordinate with other hotel departments.

The Worcester Whitehouse Hotel is a 4 star, 84 bedroom hotel right in the heart of the historic city centre of Worcester. Built in the 16th century, this classic townhouse hotel is adjacent to Foregate Street train station and a short walk to many local attractions including the Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum, The hotel is perfectly located for both leisure and business guests, offering great conference and event facilities for up to 120 delegates, wedding facilities and a leisure club.

We are seeking a reliable and proactive part timeNight Porterworking 15 hours per week to support the hotel’s night operations, ensuring guest safety, security, and a clean, welcoming environment throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol public areas and hotel premises to maintain security and safety during night hours
• Respond promptly to guest requests, emergencies, or incidents during the night shift
• Assist with late check-ins and early check-outs, providing efficient guest service
• Perform cleaning duties in public areas including lobby, corridors, restrooms, and entrances
• Monitor and operate security systems, alarms, and CCTV cameras as required
• Handle luggage storage and transportation for arriving and departing guests
• Maintain clear and accurate logs of night activities and incidents
• Support emergency procedures and fire safety protocols as needed
• Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless handovers and communication

Hours of Work:

2 x 7.5 hour shifts per week to include weekends and Bank Holidays working 11.00pm to 7.00am to include a 30 minute break
