Job summary

Langdale Chase Hotel in Windermere invites applications for a Night Porter to deliver five-star guest experiences while maintaining security and safety overnight. Reporting to the Reception Manager, you will check in late arrivals, patrol the premises, assist with late-night refreshment service and ensure smooth operation of all public areas.

The role requires prior Night Porter experience in a Four- or Five-Star setting, strong team collaboration and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Experience in a Night Porter role in a Four- or Five-Star hotel.
• Computer literacy; Rezlynx experience is advantageous.
• Strong work ethic, timekeeping and ability to multitask in a pressurised environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of guest service and welcome to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
• Ensure security and health & safety for the hotel overnight.
• Check in late arrival guests and check out early departures.
• Serve refreshments to hotel residents during the night where necessary.
• Set up and clear public areas as required.
• Clear restaurant tables after late dinners.
• Complete patrols of the hotel and premises throughout the night.
• Be knowledgeable of the hotel fire evacuation plans and fire panel operation.

Job description

Langdale Chase Hotel, which sits on the banks of beautiful Lake Windermere, has recently undergone a full and significant refurbishment and reopened its doors in November 2023. In that time the hotel has achieved 5 Star Status from the AA and been recognised in the prestigious Times Top 100 Places to Stay, ranked No.3 and North of England Hotel of the Year.

We are now looking to appoint a Night Porter, reporting to the Reception Manager, to provide a five-star guest experience through the delivery of a caring and attentive service to our visiting guests, as well as ensuring the security and health & safety of the Hotel overnight.

Your day to day;

• Responsible for providing a high standard of guest service and welcome to ensure an exceptional guest experience
• Ensuring full security and health & safety for the hotel and premises throughout the night
• Checking in any late arrival guests and checking out any early departures
• Where necessary serving refreshments to hotel residents throughout the night
• Setting up and clearing any public areas as necessary
• Clearing restaurant tables after any late dinners
• Completing patrols of the hotel and premises throughout the night
• Being knowledgeable and fully conversant with the hotel fire evacuation plans as well as understanding the fire panel operation

Who are we looking for?

You will have worked previously in a similar Night Porter role and will ideally have worked in a high quality Four-Star or Five-Star hotel. You will have the ability to work well with others to represent the Company and the hotel in a passionate, loyal, professional, and knowledgeable manner. You will have a strong work ethic, good timekeeping and the ability to multi-task whilst working in a pressurised environment.

You will be computer literate and previous experience with Rezlynx would be advantageous.
