Job summary

Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh by the Unlimited Collection is seeking a Night Porter to support overnight front desk operations. You will welcome guests, assist with check-in/out, and respond to inquiries while ensuring security through patrols and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities include helping with room service, light cleaning, and preparing the breakfast area for the morning shift. Flexibility for night shifts, weekends, and holidays is required; previous hospitality experience is preferred.

Night Porter at Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh by the Unlimited Collection

You will report to the Assistant Front Office Manager, supporting/working towards providing our guests with memorable experiences of the city.

A Night Porter will be responsible for:

• Welcoming and assisting guests with check-in and check-out procedures.
• Handling guest inquiries and providing information about hotel services and local attractions.
• Ensuring the security of the hotel and its guest by conducting regular patrols and monitoring security systems.
• Assisting with room service and delivering items to guest rooms as needed.
• Performing light cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep the hotel in top condition.
• Preparing and setting up the breakfast area for the morning shift.
• Handling any emergencies or issues that arise during the night shift.

To be successful in the role of Night Porter, we require:

• Previous experience in a similar role or in the hospitality industry is preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic computer skills for handling reservations and guest inquiries.
