Job summary

Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh by the Unlimited Collection is seeking a meticulous Night Porter to support front office operations and guest services during the night shift. You will help with check-in/out, answer questions, assist guests, and ensure the hotel remains secure through patrols and monitoring of systems.

The role requires flexibility for night shifts, weekends, and holidays, plus basic computer skills to manage reservations and inquiries.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role or in the hospitality industry is preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic computer skills for handling reservations and guest inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and assisting guests with check-in and check-out procedures.
• Handling guest inquiries and providing information about hotel services and local attractions.
• Ensuring the security of the hotel and its guests by conducting regular patrols and monitoring security systems.
• Assisting with room service and delivering items to guest rooms as needed.
• Performing light cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep the hotel in top condition.
• Preparing and setting up the breakfast area for the morning shift.
• Handling any emergencies or issues that arise during the night shift.
