Hand Picked Hotels’ Norton House Hotel & Spa seeks a Night Porter to ensure seamless overnight operations, guest security, and outstanding service. You will handle late-night bar service, room deliveries, and reception tasks, contributing to a memorable guest experience in a refined, luxury setting.

The role involves a 40-hour week, 5 days out of 7 on a rota (2245–0715), with full-time, permanent status and a starting rate of £14 per hour plus service charge.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel front office and night shifts.
• Strong computer skills for reservation systems and MS Office.
• Experience with Opera is highly desirable.

What will the role involve?

Step into a role where every night brings something new. As one of our Night Porters, you’ll be at the heart of creating memorable guest experiences, whether you’re crafting the perfect late-night drink at the bar, delivering room service with a smile, manning the reception desk, or setting the scene for the next day’s events. No two shifts are the same, and your energy and attention to detail will make all the difference.

You’ll also take ownership of the overnight operation, confidently running the night audit and ensuring everything is balanced and ready for the day ahead. Alongside this, you’ll play a key part in keeping our hotel running smoothly, maintaining a safe, welcoming, and secure environment for both guests and colleagues.

Collaboration is essential, and you’ll build strong connections with your team, keeping communication flowing across shifts so everything runs effortlessly.

This is a full-time role working 5 days out of 7 including weekends on a rota basis, 40 hours per week (shift time 2245-0715), which may vary depending on business. Part time hours will also be considered. Flexible working hours can be accommodated where possible.

• You’ll bring strong computer skills, confidently navigating hotel reservation systems and Microsoft Office. Experience with Opera is highly desirable.
