Job summary

Hand Picked Hotels is seeking a Night Porter for New Hall Hotel & Spa in Sutton Coldfield. The role involves overnight duties, balancing accounts, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for guests. Flexible shifts including weekends are required to support a luxury hotel and events calendar.

You will work within a passionate team, providing excellent service across guest services, reception, and spa/dining experiences, with opportunities to grow your skills in a four/five-star setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in luxury hotel front office or night shifts preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills required.
• Comfortable with late-night duties and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overnight operations and run the night audit, ensuring all balances are correct.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming environment and coordinate handovers across shifts.
• Assist with late-night bar service, room service, and reception tasks as needed.

What will the role involve?

Step into a role where every night brings something new. As one of our Night Porters, you’ll be at the heart of creating memorable guest experiences, whether you’re crafting the perfect late-night drink at the bar, delivering room service with a smile, manning the reception desk, or setting the scene for the next day’s events. No two shifts are the same, and your energy and attention to detail will make all the difference. You’ll also take ownership of the overnight operation, confidently running the night audit and ensuring everything is balanced and ready for the day ahead. Alongside this, you’ll play a key part in keeping our hotel running smoothly, maintaining a safe, welcoming, and secure environment for both guests and colleagues. Collaboration is essential, and you’ll build strong connections with your team, keeping communication flowing across shifts so everything runs effortlessly. Above all, this is your chance to be part of a supportive, passionate team where you can truly enjoy what you do. This is a casual contract and will require working a variety of shifts including weekends which may vary depending on business. Flexible working hours can be accommodated where possible.

• You’ll bring strong computer skills, confidently navigating hotel reservation systems and Microsoft Office. Experience with Opera is highly desirable.
