Job summary

Stock Exchange Hotel in central Manchester is seeking an Assistant Night Manager to oversee the night shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM) and maintain exceptional guest service and security. You will support the Night Manager across reception, porterage, F&B services, and night operations.

You will lead night staff, monitor housekeeping and safety standards, and ensure accurate revenue handovers while delivering a calm, professional experience for guests in a historic Edwardian setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a night operations or reception role within hospitality.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Knowledge of UK licensing laws and hotel policies related to health, safety, and security.

Responsibilities

• Support the Night Manager in overseeing nightly operations and service standards.
• Assist guests at reception, switchboard, porterage, and food & beverage services.
• Monitor and assist with night cleaning; maintain public areas.
• Ensure compliance with fire, safety, hygiene and security regulations.
• Assist in revenue checks and handovers to accounts and reception teams.
• Provide leadership and support to night staff.
• Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly to improve service.
