Job summary

Sciensus is seeking a Night Operations Lead to drive overnight depot activities and lead a team of drivers. You will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of medicines, coordinating handovers and maintaining systems like D365. A proactive approach and strong IT skills are essential.

You will work in a fast-paced, regulated environment, focusing on patient-facing time and continuous improvement of processes. A full-time, on-site role in the UK.

• Proven experience managing a team in an operational or logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Operations Supervisor with depot management and overnight operations
• Monitoring driver routes and delivery adherence, escalating issues
• Managing arrival of overnight trunk deliveries, ensuring unload, exchanges, and returns processing
• Ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, and maintained to required standards (incl. GPHC cleaning)
• Maintaining accurate system updates in D365, including driver and vehicle data
• Carrying out depot security checks to ensure building safety and prevent unauthorised access
• Completing and distributing handover documentation to stakeholders
• Prioritising nurse deliveries to protect patient-facing time
• Using controlled documentation to report abnormalities and support compliance
• Driving clear communication and escalation processes to keep operations running smoothly
• Leading and supporting a team of drivers, ensuring engagement and performance

Why this role matters

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless overnight operations within our Clinical Logistics team. As Night Operations Lead, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to give patients control of their health through knowledge, choice, convenience, and connection.

You’ll take ownership of late-shift depot activity, supporting safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of medicines, while leading a team to deliver an exceptional standard of service.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the Operations Supervisor with depot management and overnight operations
• Monitoring driver routes and delivery adherence, escalating any issues or adverse events
• Managing the arrival of overnight trunk deliveries, ensuring efficient unload, exchanges, and returns processing
• Ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, and maintained to required standards (including GPHC cleaning requirements)
• Maintaining accurate system updates in D365, including driver and vehicle data
• Carrying out depot security checks to ensure building safety and prevent unauthorised access
• Completing and distributing all handover documentation to relevant stakeholders
• Prioritising nurse deliveries to protect patient-facing time (PFT)
• Using controlled documentation to report abnormalities and support compliance
• Driving clear communication and escalation processes to keep operations running smoothly
• Leading and supporting a team of drivers, ensuring engagement and performance

Who We’re Looking For

• Proven experience managing a team in an operational or logistics environment
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
• Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building skills
• A proactive, “whatever it takes” mindset to support operational success
• Strong IT skills, including MS Office, email, and systems such as D365
• A clean, valid driving licence and willingness to complete DBS clearance
• A solid understanding of compliance requirements (MHRA, GDP, GPHC, H&S) or the ability to quickly learn
