Job summary

Heeton Hospitality UK is seeking a Night Manager in Glasgow to oversee the night-time Front Office team and ensure exceptional guest experiences from check-in through check-out.

You will drive occupancy, supervise operations, and act as the on-site leader in the Hotel Manager's absence, ensuring adherence to policies and delivering consistent service.

Qualifications

• Previous Night Manager experience in a similar size property.
• Able to effectively communicate with hotel teams.
• Flexible with working hours.
• Fluent English spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Front Office operations during night hours to maintain high standards.
• Serve as point of contact for regular and VIP guests.
• Maximise room occupancy and upsell hotel services.
• Follow hotel currency, credit card and cash handling policies.
• Supervise front-of-house equipment and property management systems.
• Conduct annual and mid-year appraisals with team members.
• Perform Health and Safety checks and night walks; maintain area awareness.
• Represent the Hotel Manager in their absence and take responsibility for the hotel.
• Record and resolve issues or emergencies promptly.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel products, services and local area.
• Adhere to security and emergency procedures and lead instigation when required.
• Prepare handover to Early staff/Duty Manager.
• Attend required training courses and assist with team development.
• Assist other departments as needed.

Job description

As Night Manager, you will oversee the night-hour supervision of the Front Office Team to ensure that Team Members are prepared and well-informed to deliver our Guests an exceptional experience from check-in through check-out. A Night Manager is responsible for managing the first impressions of our Guests and, therefore, must perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Oversee the entire Front Office operation to maintain high standards
• Serve as a point of contact for regular and VIP Guests
• Maximise room occupancy at the best rates and use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities
• Understand and demonstrate correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards and cash by the hotel credit policy
• Act by policies and procedures when working with front-of-house equipment and property management systems
• Conduct annual and mid-year Appraisals with Team Members
• Conduct Health and Safety Checks and Night Walks, and maintain a good status awareness of all hotel areas
• Represent the Hotel Manager and other senior managers in their absence, taking full responsibility of the hotel
• Manage, record and promptly resolve issues or emergencies that arise
• Demonstrate current knowledge of hotel products, services, pricing and policies, as well as knowledge of the local area
• Act by all security and emergency procedures and manage the instigation of these, as required
• Compile adequate handover to Early staff / Duty Manager
• Attend appropriate training courses, when required, and assist with the Night Team’s training and development efforts
• Assist other departments, as necessary

• Previous experience as Night Manager in a similar size property
• Ability to communicate with your team and the hotel teams.
• Must be flexible with hours
• Must speak Fluent English

You will be centrally located in Glasgow, an 8-minute walk from Buchanan Street and 11 minutes by foot from George Square. The Glasgow Central train station is a 5-minute walk. This 4-star hotel is 0.8 mi (1.2 km) from Royal Concert Hall and 1.3 mi (2.1 km) from OVO Hydro.
