Job summary

Cambridge Water is seeking a skilled Leakage Technician for permanent night shifts. The role involves field-based leakage detection across District Metered Areas, data capture, and professional customer engagement, within a 4 x 10-hour shift pattern.

The team works to reduce water loss while maintaining service quality. You will use specialised detection tools, perform valve operations, and contribute ideas to improve efficiency in a dynamic distribution network.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• Good PC literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Carry out field-based leakage detection activities across allocated DMAs.
• Detect and localise leakage effectively, utilising leakage detection equipment.
• Undertake valve operations, step testing, DMA integrity testing, and pressure, flow, or noise logging to support network optimisation.
• Accurately complete paperwork, capture operational data, and provide information to support planning and decision making.
• Manage customer interactions professionally, addressing concerns calmly and proactively managing expectations.
• Adapt to new technologies and contribute ideas to improve team performance and operational effectiveness.
