The role requires strong attention to detail, reliability on unsociable hours, knowledge of infection control and health and safety practices; COSHH awareness is desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in cleaning, hygiene, or sanitation operations in commercial or institutional settings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Excellent time keeping and reliability for night shifts.
• Proficiency in using cleaning equipment, machinery, and chemical products safely.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and infection control procedures.
• Physical capability for manual cleaning tasks and lifting/moving equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good organisational skills and task prioritisation.
• Reliable communication within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise designated areas according to hygiene protocols.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Handle and dispose of cleaning chemicals per regulations.
• Perform routine inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Keep detailed records of cleaning schedules and chemical usage.
• Adhere to infection control procedures and guidelines.
• Work efficiently to complete tasks during night shifts.
• Communicate facility conditions and concerns to day shift staff.
• Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are stored and restocked.
