Job summary

DPD UK is seeking a Plant Operative for night shifts in our hub environment. You will work with state‑of‑the‑art sortation equipment, ensure parcels meet size and weight regulations, and clear blockages to maintain throughput.

You will collaborate with colleagues to meet nightly targets while maintaining safety and high quality standards. The role emphasises flexibility to adjust to changing priorities, strong organisational skills, and a proactive attitude in a fast-paced warehousing setting.

Qualifications

• Warehouse or hospi talty sector experience is beneficial.
• Willingness to work night shifts.
• Understanding of Health and Safety practices in a warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Monitor parcel compliance in the hub to ensure size/weight regulations.
• Clear induct and sorter blockages to maintain smooth operations.
• Work to improve hub KPIs, including throughput and accuracy.
• Escalate issues to management promptly.
• Liaise with team members and other departments using good communication.
• Maintain a proactive, positive attitude and adapt to new processes.
• Adhere to Health and Safety policies at all times.
• Support hub operations and assist in other areas during peak periods.
• Keep work area clean, tidy and hazard‑free during shifts.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet nightly targets and deadlines.
• Adapt to changing priorities and workloads during busy periods.
• Demonstrate high work ethic and self‑motivation for high performance.
• Maintain high attention to detail in parcel handling and processing.
