Job summary

DPD UK is seeking a Hub Sortation Operative Nights at their Smethwick hub to work on state-of-the-art sortation equipment. The role focuses on monitoring parcel compliance, clearing blockages, and supporting nightly KPI goals in a 18:00–02:30 shift, Monday to Friday.

The position offers a fixed-term contract until January 4, 2027, at £14.93 per hour for a 40-hour week, with training and PPE provided. Benefits include on-site parking and health and wellbeing services.

Responsibilities

• Monitor parcel compliance in the hub to ensure size and weight regulations.
• Clear induct and sorter blockages promptly to maintain operations.
• Work to improve hub KPIs including throughput and accuracy.
• Escalate issues to management in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
• Maintain a proactive attitude and adapt to new processes.
• Adhere to Health and Safety policies at all times.
• Support hub operations during peak periods and assist in other areas.
• Keep work area clean, tidy and hazard-free during shifts.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet nightly targets and deadlines.
• Adapt to changing priorities during busy periods.
