Job summary

Workchain in Sharnford is seeking a reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to work temporary night shifts. You will be responsible for safe, professional driving and compliance with road transport regulations from Sharnford.

The role requires a valid HGV Class 1 licence, Driver CPC and tachograph card, plus prior HGV driving experience. You will perform nightly deliveries and vehicle checks, ensuring paperwork is accurate and compliant with hours regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence is required.
• Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
• Previous HGV driving experience.
• Good knowledge of drivers’ hours and road safety requirements.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A careful and responsible approach to vehicle and load safety.

Responsibilities

• Driving an HGV Class 1 vehicle during night shifts.
• Completing scheduled deliveries and collections safely and on time.
• Carrying out vehicle safety checks before and after journeys.
• Completing delivery paperwork and maintaining accurate records.
• Following company procedures, transport legislation and drivers’ hours regulations.
• Reporting any vehicle, load or delivery issues promptly.
• Maintaining a professional approach when representing the business.
